Safeguarding Policy

The Stanthorpe Baptist Church (SBC) is committed to protecting the rights, safety, wellbeing, and
cultural safety of Children. This policy’s continual implementation by the Church Governance
Group is required to ensure:
 a culture of safety which is maintained by the SBC;
 that the SBC is compliant with legislation relating to reporting harm and protecting children;
and
 that the SBC meets its insurance requirements in the area of children.
Underlying this Policy is the acknowledgement that safe spaces begin and end with the knowledge

Statement of Commitment

The Stanthorpe Baptist Church is dedicated to providing safe spaces for everyone and is
committed to fulfilling the responsibilities under the Mandatory Requirements of a child and
youth risk management strategy set out by the Queensland Government Blue Card Services. We
have adopted a Statement of Commitment to use for all our Children, Young People and
